Women's Ease of Being - DROP-IN
Women's Ease of Being is the most deliciously relaxing, destressing class on the roster!
Service Description
Women's Ease of Being is your gift to yourself. This class is different. It draws from the other classes as it incorporates mindful embodiment through Restorative Yoga, the leading-edge psychology technique of Internal Family Systems, and the age-old yoga tradition of Yoga Nidra. It is such a divine pairing! If you aren't familiar with Restorative Yoga, it is very gentle and can be adapted to almost any body, even if you have suffered an injury. We often don't even stand up! Due to our fast-paced, striving culture, this class can be a desperately needed pause. Some even need to relearn how to relax after our systems have gotten stuck in overdrive and are habitually stressed. My Restorative teacher, David McAmmond, used to call it Level III or Advanced because, in Restorative Yoga, you slow down so much that you get clear on what you are doing in your body and what is happening in your heart and head. The rest of the format is identical to the other Holistic Healing Circles. We check-in by turning in, listening to our inner world intently and then extending that listening outward to feel what others share as we observe how our system reacts. It is an extremely conscious way of being with yourself and with others. It's a great practice to take home to your friends and family. The check-in is followed by centring meditation, chant, breathwork, and connecting to our intentions—the perfect foundation to flow into the movement portion of the class. Once you have been liquified, we settle into a deep, meditative relaxation. Here, the effects of our practice have an opportunity to sink in, and we have a chance to see how our systems liked it. Do any physical, emotional, or mental Parts need anything more? Are there Parts that loved it? Are there Parts of you that would like to approach the practice differently next time? Has something been released or softened? Have you gleaned any new understanding? Given all this, how will you mindfully move out into your day? Returning to our breath, we reanimated our bodies and return to sitting. There is a closing chant, and we dedicate the merit to all Beings. It is so much more than just a yoga class.
